A lot of automotive traceability involves marking on metal, but Technomark industrial marking machines are capable of marking on injection-molded plastic parts as well.
This company installed a M4 Inline dot peen marking system to inscribe time stamp information on utility vehicle tanks. The M4 Inline has a fully automated option, but also a semi-automated function too.
This company chose the semi-automatic machine. The operator places the plastic piece on the marking station where it is clamped into place. The M4 Inline 16-way bus card ensures synchronization with other functions in the production line. At the same time, the pneumatic Z axis moves the marking head horizontally across the working area.
When the piece is marked, the operator moves it to the next phase in the production line and repeats the process.
